Final Illustrator composite. The online of the sea turtle was all created by using the pen tool. In order to create the sea turtle I used two layers. On one layer was the reference image. And above the reference image was the second layer in which I used the pen tool to trace the outline of the sea turtle. Once I had the outline of the sea turtle I used my creative freedom to paint the rest of the image. I used the paint bucket tool, gradient tool, and paint brush tool to create the color you see. This was all done on Adobe Illustrator in an 8 x 8 inch document.

The objectives of this project were to pick a sea creature, and recreate it in Adobe Illustrator by using only the Pen Tool, Pathfinder, and Shape Tool. The goal was to enhance our Illustrator skills with these tools. Prior to this project I had never created an image in Illustrator solely by these tools. This not only enhanced my knowledge of how to use the Pen Tool, but it also enhance my knowledge of what it takes to illustrate in Adobe Illustrator.
